01.11.2024, 18:50
"Investigators from the Hessian State Criminal Police Office and the Federal Criminal Police Office have carried out an internationally coordinated raid against the operators of an Internet platform for drug sales. As the authorities announced on Friday together with the Frankfurt am Main Public Prosecutor's Office, arrest warrants were executed on Thursday against two suspects aged 19 and 28. The two were subsequently taken into custody.
The investigators searched a total of seven properties in Hesse, Rhineland-Palatinate and North Rhine-Westphalia. Measures were also taken in France, Greece, Iceland and the USA. During the operations, extensive evidence such as IT infrastructure and data was confiscated. This will now form the basis for further investigations against criminal sellers and users of the platforms, the authorities explained.

The two arrested people from Darmstadt in Hesse and the Rhein-Lahn district in Rhineland-Palatinate are accused of having provided and administered various criminal infrastructures on the Internet. On the one hand, they are said to have sold drugs as administrators of the Flight RCS online platform. Flight RCS was a marketplace for designer drugs and liquids made from synthetic cannabinoids that was freely accessible on the Internet.
The two are also accused of being involved in operating the online platform for computer sabotage. According to the authorities, users of the platform were exposed to so-called DDoS attacks - Distributed Denial-of-Service. These can be used to attack websites or other online services and render them completely inoperable."
